Whats your winter ride

I don't understand why people buy a nice car or truck , then drive it during the winter. Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed mustangs and other Good rides out in several in inches of snow. If that's not enough the salt that is used to melt the snow eats metal and eats the wax protecting your paint. If you wash it off it's fine. The salt doesn't do any harm until the weather warms up or parking it in a heated garage. Even if you keep it washed. Any remaining salt will rust out from the bottom up. This mostly happens under the fender wells.
Which brings me back to. Why would you pay good money for a mustang of any grade then drive it in the snow. not to mention rear wheel drive doesn't go good in the snow.
What I do is buy an older cheap ride instead. I drive an 1994 ford ranger four wheel drive. It also has an grand pa running boards. There is one benefits. The cops don't look twice.
If you are planning on buying a new or used ford Mustang. Buy a clunker to drive during the winter months. You will glad you did .

Mustang Maintenance- Paint / Interior

To preserve the value of their investment, they also want to keep your car's finish and interior. Keep the car wash and clean. Be careful when automatic car wash. Many of the new do an excellent job, but some of the older hard brush can scratch the paint badly. If you can keep your car in a garage or under cover, to do so. That garbage that have accumulated in the garage while your vehicle is $ 35,000 in time is a poor investment decision. Remove bird droppings and tree sap as quickly as possible. I keep a plastic bottle with water and a soft cloth in my car to clean the bird droppings as soon as I see them. Acid to eat away the paint very quickly and cause a defect that is painting. But do not rub a stain. Bird droppings are usually sand them, which could easily scratch the paint.

You can remove the tree sap and road tar with turpentine or paint thinner on his hardware store. It does not hurt the paint and quickly dissolve the sap or tar. But you also have to remove the wax in a car to be used sparingly, and if you do it often, keep the car fresh Turtle Wax few times a year. As soon as car wax causes water to bead a bit 'of round beads on the surface. When you start to lose these gems, it's time for another layer of wax. Wax protects the paint of your car, it will be porous and weathered, and to make the removal of things like bird droppings and sap a lot easier.

Remember that the paint factory are cooked and are generally much more durable than paint. So it is worth continuing the factory paint job.

I like to use vinyl Armor All inside the car ... remains soft and supple and prevents cracking and looks sharp. I recommend using some kind of coat in warm weather windshield if you park in the sun all day. Keep it cool inside the car and also protect your car's dashboard cracks. And if your car has leather seats, leather treated with a keeping quality on a regular basis. Nothing makes a car difficult to sell to the worn leather seats cracked.

Mustang Maintenance-Tires/Shock s

Other items such as tires, brakes and shock absorbers are not covered by the warranty ... items are considered routine Maintenance. Choose your tires carefully ... There are a wide range of prices curtains tires accordingly. Invariably, these bargain prices advertised to do the tires are junk and not worth your time if you are just fixing cars for sale. Many offer tire mileage warranties, but read the fine print ... often is "proportional" and applies to the "list" price of a new, not the large discounts that sold them. This is an old scam. Put 20,000 miles on 50 000 miles and the tires you can find the adjusted price of a new series under the guarantee is more than you can buy or a comparable set of pure and simple.

Usually always buy tires, at least in pairs. Do not put a new tire to a wheel, while the other is considerable wear and tear. It is usually best to put new tires on the front steering make better use and management of a new tire. But if your car is rear-wheel drive, to know that badly worn rear tires cause the car skid and lose control quickly wet or slippery. If you rotate the tires on a regular basis, say every 7,500 or 10,000 miles, at least, so all the tires wear out more or less simultaneously, and it is best to change all four series.

When they put on new tires, you should have balanced and the end of first line. Misalignment or balance wear out much faster new tires and can seriously affect the quality of handling. Often, balancing tests when they are new does not mean they will still be in equilibrium after 5-10000 miles. I like to buy my tires from a tire dealer who offer free rotation and balance for the life of the tire. I look for tires that handle well in wet conditions to prevent hydroplaning. They are generally steel belt upscale, all-weather radial, which also works very well in snow as well.

I remember you and your family's life is riding on your tires. Invest in a good quality tire ... is a good investment. And one more thing, these new "low profile" tires, which seems so cold on these sport sedans. The low profile on the short side, which means to give and flex a little 'out there, however, can contribute to better management, it also means a stiffer ride less comfortable, and put the suspension, because the tires do not absorb road irregularities well, so it's all suspension components more expensive.

The shock absorbers are another important component is often overlooked. worn shocks to speed up the wear on tires and suspension, especially at the end of the front ball joints. It 's relatively easy to monitor the performance of a shock. Quickly press car fender, more than four wheels. New attacks will be quite stiff and difficult to recover the injection, a single bounce. If the car bounces up and down several times over the wheel, the shocks are worn out and should be replaced. These are not expensive, and a tire dealer will remain in good quality Monroe shocks look like little more than $ 100 for all four cars a lot.

Also not covered by most warranties, the brakes checked regularly (every time you rotate your tires, and replaced when they are weak. Driving with worn brakes (usually, they squeak badly when you come to a stop) quickly score your brake rotors or drums and make them meaningful and replace the brake pads or brake shoes. Front brakes are usually the first, and again depending on how you drive, you can probably s' expect to replace them every 30 thousand miles or more. A brake shop on the goodwill tour rollers or drums, replacing brake pads or shoes, and rebuilt calipers or cylinders as required. If you replace often and rotors / drums sound good, sometimes you can get away with just a pair of new shoes or pads.

Always keep an eye on your brake fluid under the hood. As the brake pads or shoes to wear, the fluid level drops. This is normal, and you have to add some brake fluid from time to time. Casrely is not to spill paint on the car as it is highly corrosive and eats through the paint in minutes.
